Term used to describe the books of the Bible that are inspired and authoritative. Old Testament (39) canon & New Testament (27) canon comprise the Christian canon.

Cities of Refuge
Six cities given Levi's descendants when the Promised Land was divided by Joshua. Any one guilt of accidental killing (manslaughter) was allowed to flee to a City of Refuge and remain their until the priest of the nation died. The individual was safe from the laws demands for "eye for and eye..."

Three were located on the east and three were on the west side of the Jordan River.
