STATEMENT OF FAITH
Friendswood Christian School
We believe and teach our students the following:
The Bible is God's Word, divinely inspired and without
error.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness,
2 Timothy 3:16
Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the
prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but
men spoke from God as they were carded along by the Holy Spirit.
2 Peter 1:20-21
There is one God, existent as the Father, the Son and
the Holy Spirit.
For there are three that testify: The Spirit, the
water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
1 John 5:7-8
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God...The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have
seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and
truth.
John 1:1, 14
All people have fallen and are in need of the
regeneration, which God has provided through Jesus Christ.
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one
man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned--
Romans 5:12
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that carne by Christ
Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He
did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins
committed beforehand unpunished-- Romans 3:23-25
Salvation is by God's grace through faith.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and
this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can
boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9
he saved us, not because of righteous things we had
done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by
the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,
so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of
eternal life.
Titus 3:5-7
Jesus, the only begotten Son of God,
Was born of a virgin... "The virgin will be
with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel'--which means,
"God with us.'
Matthew 1:23
Lived a sinless life...God made him who had no
sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2
Corinthians 5:21
Died a substitutionary death... You see, at just
the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
Very
rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly
dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:6-8
Rose again from death...The angel said to the
women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was
crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he
lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going
ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you.'
Matthew
28:5-7
Is coming again...For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a
loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the
dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be
caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be
with the Lord forever. Therefore, encourage each other with these words.
