NT Overview  Week 05
NT - Summary Of The Life Of Christ (1)

The next two weeks will cover in some detail the events surrounding the life of Christ.

4 Truths provides a brief over view of the Bible which places the "Christ Event" in perspective of the Creation, Fall, and Consummation. Understanding the place of the coming of Christ in biblical revelation is essential to a correct interpretation.

You will be asked to review the Harmony of the Life of Christ or Gospels. This review will help you on several assignments: Summary of the Life of Christ and on your Final text.

When you write your Summary of the Life of Christ, REMEMBER that I am not looking for "parrots" to repeat my listing. What is important is how and what you do for the summary. For this summary I am looking for balance and thoroughness, NOT BREVITY

In Metzger's text you will discover some very detailed discussions which the scholars have debated for a long time. In any academic setting you need to be, at the minimum, exposed to a variety of ideas and thoughts. You may agree and/or disagree with any and/or all of the discussions scholars have had over the centuries.

As a student you need to be able to make up your own mind and heart. You can only make up your own mind when you know the details. Knowledge, LearNing, and EDucation (KLnEd) is a multi-faceted adventure. Enjoy!

I suggest you read (maybe read a second time) all the assignments before you begin to draw conclusions and do your assignments.

Since I have divided Metzger's chapter, each week's Metzger's reading is not very long. However, you will be reading several Lectures from the DSM text, which will add much information. You will also be encouraged to review other resources which you may have available to you.

SUGGESTIONS for creating your summary:
